Hardscaping is generally considered to be any aspect of
a landscape that is not about the plants, the inanimate
components. It is usually associated with masonry and
structures. We love to work with local materials when appropriate,
which include local bluestone, fieldstone, river rock, river gravel,
cedar and hemlock. I am personally a huge fan of pea gravel for
less formal paths. The sampling of projects shown in this gallery are often
depicted shortly after the installation so that the hardscaping is not
obscured by lush foliage.
